High School Youth Ministry

‘I have been crucified with Christ; yet I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me.’ Galatians 2:20.

It took a lot of time and prayer for me to leave Holy Family Parish in Linda Vista and begin a deeper journey with God here at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. The transition from there to here however went smoothly because of the love and compassion I felt from everyone at this parish. I immediately felt welcomed. That same warm welcoming feeling is exactly what I wish and hope for every teen who comes to our youth ministry. This past year has been a blessing. To come to a place with expectation to maybe change some things and instead I am the one changed for the better by everyone here is humbling and heartwarming. I say heartwarming because OLPH for me, can honestly only be described as one thing; home.

OLPH High School Youth Ministry is a place where we hope teens can feel welcome and safe. Through the teachings of our Catholic faith we pray to show our teens compassion, understanding, and sense of belonging here. The place where so many of us call home. Our mission is to show that joy from Saviour Jesus Christ is forever true through His teachings and through our actions. To invite our teens to a relationship with Christ and praise his name throughout their lives no matter where they go. Life can be a challenging experience and a foundation in faith is the only way to overcome it. When that gets difficult we need a place to go, to remind them they are loved. OLPH is that place. It’s home.

All teens are welcome to experience this love of Christ and to our Youth Ministry! We meet every other Sunday starting September 10th from 6pm to 8pm. During the Summer we have Raise The Faith at the Youth Office it’s a time and place where we can express our desire to be in a relationship with Christ and learn more about our faith, we meet every Wednesday 5pm to 7pm. We also have many social events throughout the year from field days, nerf nights, praise and worship nights, and retreats. To know more about those check out the bulletin and other media outlets. Teens who are looking to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation can look forward to classes starting sometime in October! It’s a 12 week course that explores the Holy Spirit and God’s desire to know you. Check the bulletin for future updates. The effect of Ambien from https://www.namikeystonepa.org/ambien-zolpidem/ is based on a binding to the docking sites of a specific nerve messenger (GABA-A receptor) in the brain. This reduces the excitability of the cells at the end of a reaction cascade. This leads to an anxiety-relieving, soothing, sleep-promoting, muscle-relaxing and anesthetic (narcotic) effect.

Like the bible verse in the beginning, be willing to bear your cross and love each other to your fullest potential. To change the world means to change your heart. If we all just loved each other a little bit more, the world would be a much better place. It starts with you.

God bless you,
